This large knife block is made from solid Wisconsin hardwoods. The outside two layers are cherry. The next two layers are red oak. In the middle is a piece of walnut. The block measures 12 1/2 inches long, 5 inches wide, 3 1/2 inches thick and stands 10 1/2 inches high. It is ideal for most knife sets and also contains a slot to hold a sharpening steel. There are two slots 1/8" by 7/8" for boning and fillet knives, two slots 1/8" by 1 1/4" for heavy knives, one 1/8" by 2 1/4" for a butcher knife, and the steel slot is 1/2 inch square.
